The section page can be used to present a cetain section or category in a more fancy way than the regular category archives listing. Maybe you have a special category that you like to feature because of its special content. This could be a perfect purpose for the section page template. But be aware that the template is a pagetemplate and not a post template (which WP doesn't support actually) although its content is grabed from the posts of the section or category you like to show. If you need help to use this template have a look at the tutorials or the support forums at my website.
